Best of Friends

Best of Friends is the first of my children’s book series, Four of a Kind which I have written and illustrated. The story is based on my childhood cat Kylie and her favorite toy, a stuffed bear named Sally. Sally was displayed at Thomas T. Taber Museum as part of a museum exhibit on teddy bears in 2012.

I created Best of Friends using Adobe Illustrator and Indesign and published a limited number of copies using the online self-publishing platform, Blurb. You can view select spreads from the book below as well as an article in Mountain Home about the Teddy Bear Exhibit that Sally was a part of.

 

Four of a kind

Four of a Kind is a series of children’s books that I have written, illustrated, and self published about my childhood pets: Kylie, Kelly, Kenya and Kasey. They were funny, weird cats whose antics and picadillos provided my family with a lifetime of memories and laughs. The inspiration for creating series came when my sister had her first baby, Kirk, and I was trying to think of the perfect gift to give both of them. The series will include four books, each devoted to one of our girls.
