Recap: Recently, I took a road trip through the Pacific Northwest with my former college roommate and have been writing a series of blog entries about the trip. To get up to speed, you can view my previous bog entries from the road trip series: Comfort Zone, Down Time in Seattle, and A Day and a Half in Portland.
The next stop on our roadtrip was to Talent and Ashland, Oregon which is about 300 miles south of Portland on Interstate 5, and seated at the foothills of Siskiyou and Cascade Mountain Ranges. I was promised that Ashland had a “super cute” downtown and that it was home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, but what I was really excited about was a tent. But not just a tent; it was a tent that was nicer than my apartment and was ordained to be my first “Glamping” experience.
Now, I love being outdoors, but camping just seems superfluous to me. There are bugs, uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, a noticeable lack of bathroom facilities, bugs... yeah, no, thank you. But Glamping on the other hand, combines the best of both worlds. I get to do my outdoor thing and then retire for the evening to a tent equipped with hardwood floors, a Queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress, electricity, wi-fi, and terry cloth robes to wear as I lounge about in my leisure. Hell yes, glamping! Check out the galleries below to see more of “Glamping”, Talent, and Ashland.
